Market Whiplash:Price Drivers in 2019

Erika Coombs of BTU Analytics

***LIMITED SEATING AVAILABLE***

11:00 AM to 1:00 PM

  • Just four short years after the last crash, the industry is facing down oversupply in the crude market once again. Recessionary fears compounded with supply growth have resulted in WTI prices falling from a high of $76/bbl in October to $42/bbl at the end of December.  While many of the drivers of falling prices remain the same as in the previous crash, the North American E&P landscape has evolved significantly since 2014. Many public independent producers are now more focused on capital discipline, however, operational momentum from 2018 will carry US crude oil production significantly higher without radical changes in producer drilling and completion plans.

Erika Coombs is Manager of Consulting Services at BTU Analytics. She leads the team to deliver customized energy-market analysis and provides BTU Analytics’ customers with critical information for a variety of energy markets including oil, gas, and NGLs from wellhead to downstream markets. She holds a M.S. in Mineral and Energy Economics from the Colorado School of Mines.

If you would like to bring a raffle prize please contact Michael Johnston @mjohnston@howardeneregy.com  or just bring it to the meeting and we will make sure you get the credit for your generosity.
